Bleaching??

Another post another question. I purchases this SPS Purple Stylophora maybe a month or so ago overall its doing great. It seems that the very underside of the branches and the base is white though (still has small clear polyp extension) I dont remember if it has been like that from day 1 or not. Overall the polyps extend and have good color and it seems ot be encrusting from the plug onto my rockwork and growing.

Anything ro worry about or normal? Pictures were taken as soon as lights came on because once the polyps extend its hard to get a picture of the white underside without the long polyps getting in the
way

I see nothing abnormal nor bleached.

 

Awesome thats what I thought but being new to SPS was afraid it might be something wrong. Figured its normal for the udnersides to look different due to the coral shading itself

 

Looking good so far what light and flow do you have on it?

 

I seen that happen on my BN, it never seems to be a permanent thing and it always returns to normal.

 

looks like a great coral. Did you order it?

 

I bought it at a lfs, I believe it came from a frag from a colony at his home tank
