Well, of all the fish i have ever kept, here or in the lab the lawnmower blenny is the least picky when it comes to food. As for the angel or tang. The angel is a gamble, 50% he doesnt eat all ur corals 50% he does...the yellow, i would add him later...can be somewhat of a bully. We have some in the labs and they bully new fish.

My lawnmower eats everything, I put in a silverslide or some shrimp for the eel or lion/crabs and he goes at it.

Try looking into a Red-Lipped Blenny. They are colorful, energetic, clean algae and eat anything you put into the tank. They are more hardy than a Lawnmower Blenny and very peaceful!

I've had two lawnmowers that only ate algae but the one I've got now eats everything :)

Ditto I've had a Lawnmower blenny and all it would eat is algae. I couldn't get it to eat shrimp or anything like that. It eventually died unfortunately, though I really don't know why. My tank was set up for 5 years and had alot of macroalgae and some microalgae growth. I think the red-lipped blennies are more hardy though!!

Personally I think this has much to do with how they are collected and handled.

The reason I say to wait on the lawnmower is to make sure he has sufficient food when you add him, that way he'll have food while you get him accustom to other foods you feed. After a couple of months being in my tank, my blenny is starting to have a craving for meats.

In this hobby, anything can happen with these animals... my mandarin now eats formula 2 pellets! Those pellets are a wonder.

Wow! That is awesome that you have your blenny eating pellets. Mandarins have a bad rap because of their hard food requirements. I'd love to try a Mandarin... maybe in the near future. Heck, I never thought i'd try Tubastrea. Not only is it alive for more than a month, but is actually thriving and spreading!

My sister has had a Lawnmower for a solid 2 years, and that fish will eat anything, flake, pellet, algae, shrimp, he'll even nibble on your fingers!

The fish has recently been given to my mother, where it is also doing great and eating everything.

Personally I love the Bicolor Blenny. I love the splash of color in my tank, and she/he eats whatever I throw in, while spending most of the day grazing on algae.

Good to hear. I've got quite a lot of positive feedback on the BiColor Blenny, I'll have to give them a closer look also.
