I already own an algae (lawnmower) blenny, that I adore. Recently I saw a red lizard blenny and would love to have one. I remember reading somewhere that algae's would be aggressive with anything that looked like a blenny. Any advice.

Not in your 30g I wouldn't (just my opinion). Maybe in a larger tank. If they're competing for food in that 30g you'll have a hard time keeping both alive, especially if they're prone to aggressiveness. Just my .02

EDIT: You do have lots of LR though, but I don't think I would consider it.

Well from what I read on the site where it is for sale (and correct me if I'm wrong) but the red lizard is a carnivore, and my algae is an omnivore. My tank is loaded with algae and the lawnmower is fat and poops ALOT.

I also was lead to understand that it is not so much the size of the tank as it is the availability of food (i.e. larger tank: more food) with this species as I said algae is not a problem.

my blenny can barely handle being with anything, thats in a 75g. they are *****ish fish, but cool and useful. IMo I wouldnt and not recomended to be kept together.

Yeah, you're right with the availability of food, but with a larger tank it is less likely they'll have a confrontation as often as they can both find their own corner of the tank a little further away.

algae blenny can be a bully big time if it's large enough - IMO don't take the chance
