So I picked up my on-order Kole tang Friday evening from my LFS. He's a little bigger then I expected, but that's a good thing since all the issues I had with my Powder Brown earlier in the week.

Now here's the thing. He's been in the tank for 2ish days. He's always sat at the bottom, never really leaving the sand bed. At first he did laps on the bottom, running into almost everything. Now he's picked a cave and has taken up almost full-time residence. He rarely leaves the case, and as far as I can tell won't even leave for food. He'll do circles within the cave but that's about it.

He looks good though. His eyes look fine, and he has tons of color.

I searched before I posted this, so am going to try soaking some Nori in garlic juice and putting that in front of him, but earlier today when I tried to target feed, he acted like I wasn't even there and that the food wasn't inches from him.

I'd like to hear any other suggestions, thanks!

Sounds like your tang is just settling in getting used to its new environment, what other fish are in there with it?

Current residents are: Sailfin Tang, Powder Brown Tang, 3 Chromis, and a B&W Clown pair.

I have read that Kole's aren't the easiest and can be picky eaters, but his lack of "exploring" is what is weird to me.

I would give him at least another day. Some fish are skittish I would turn out the lights on the tank and just keep the room lights on for the time being and let him settle in. I know my sailfin can be kinda bullyish sometimes to the other fish. Is he getting picked on?

After the acclimation, the Powder brown made his presence known, but not that he's "hiding" whenever I sit there and watch, no one seems to care.

Yeah, I know giving him more time may just be what he needs, but there's this thing called patience that they ran out of the day I was born.;)
