I finished the stone on the bar. I still have to install countertops and the remainder of the trim around the floor and brick. There's always something to work on.

Hey Bloke if you dont mine me making a suggestion, I would like to say you should paint the door a color that matches those bricks so that it doesnt stand out so much.

Thanks for taking the time to share your build with us

Oh, absolutely! That's already in the plan. It still primer-colored. :cheesy: Since I have to paint several doors, I figured I would paint them all at the same time.

And I don't mind the suggestion/comment. I appreciate people's comments, both congratulatory and critical. ;)

The stone work looks great. You did a good job. What kind (material) of counter tops will you be putting in?

Great build Bloke, can't wait to see the tank up and running. If you didn't do such a great job on the entire basement, I probably wouldn't have noticed this...on the curve in the brickwork above the tank, part of the tank trim is showing, is that by design?...yea I know, I'm being picky but only because I'm comparing it to the rest of the room.

You know, I had considered a solid surface, but I don;t want to throw $2500-$3000 into countertops for the basement so I think I will go with a laminant to save on some of the cost.

LOL - You are being a little picky, but I like it! Yes, a little bit of the upper trim does show and it wasn't that this was done by design, but rather if the arch over the tank would've come directly even with the upper trim, another 6" or so of the sides of the tank would have been cut off from view. Therefore, a choice had to be made: would I like to have a larger viewing area or have the trim completely hidden from view. I chose the former and I think it's only noticeable to those extremely picky... kind of like me. ;D

This will be the last images of the tank without lights. To start, I ordered three RapidLED PAR38 bulbs with 80 degree optics. I am going to run by Lowe's and pick up some track lighting this evening and will hopefully post a new picture this weekend.

Here is a quick video of the tank with lights over it. I now understand why people complain about taking pictures of their tanks when lit by LEDs; the tank isn't nearly as washed out as the images appear. I actually LOVE the color; it's a very crisp bluish white (~12k).

Again, this is three RapidLED PAR38s each with 80 degree optics.
