Hey guys, well it's been about 2 days that I got my naso tang. But he doesn't seem to be eating, and looks kind of lost at times.
I'm not sure what's wrong with him..
I think I made a mistake when getting him from lfs because he wasn't exactly eating like a pig..

what are you feeding it? of course i see that you have other tangs so i doubt your choice of food is an issue. do you use garlic? the garlic could get its attention.

I feed mysis shrimp, and emerald cubes. ( they contain Brine, mysis, krill and algae and some other stuff)

I Also give them nori and pellets with spirulina.

Im going to try soaking food in garlic.. I usually do it anyways but I ran out 3 dys ago. Will go to lfs an get more soon. Any other ideas?

is it going to the food and then not liking what it finds or is it just showing no interest in eating? do you know what it was eating at the LFS?

My naso would not eat anything except formula two and nori when I first brought him home. It took about one month for formula one and two months until he was interested in mysis...

Nori would be your best bet to get him eating... If he turns that down then he's in bad shape :/

Should I rip nori to pieces and feed it with the mysis? Because what I do is put it on a clip. But pretty much my yellow and vampire tang along with all my 8 chromis and clowns and foxface get at it ( my salifin doesn't eat nori either but devours the mysis since day one)

what's formula 1? Can I find this at any lfs?

hmmm....i have a sailfin tang that refuses to eat mysis. i feed using a baster and he runs up to it tapping it when i stick it in the water but ignores the mysis when it comes out. He loves the brine and angel/butterfly mix i feed but ignores the mysis.....very confusing. he is the only one in the tank that does this. i know this doesn't help you but felt like venting my frustration. The only suggestion i have is maybe just to try brine. i know it doesn't have much nutritional value but maybe it will just get him eating and then hope he starts accepting the other foods you offer. you also said that you feed nori. you might try the ocean nutrition green seaweed that is already soaked in garlic. i know that it is expensive compared to the sushi made version but it might be worth a try. are any of your other tangs bullying him?

Not really no one is bullying him.. I was surprised to see that, since my yellow tang is pretty mean to new comers.
Did I mention Ive only had him for 2 days? I bought him this Friday ( lfs said they had him for a week though)..
    Could that be the reason?

yes, two days is not that long. he could just be a little stressed. i was just concerned because you said that he wasn't eating that well at the LFS either. since he seems to show interest in eating but won't eat the food, i thought he just might be a picky eater.
