i wouldnt worry about it. he is probably just getting ready to molt. DO NOT DO ANYTHING like add iodine ever!

How often do all of yours molt? I have a breeding pair and mine seem to molt every couple weeks now!

I have read you should add iodine and calcium regularly? This is from many web sites and books that say i should add both?

dont ever add anything that you dont test for. Calcium should be checked and adjusted accordingly. Normally, your water changes (unless you have an SPS tank or lots of corals) will keep your calcium balanced.

Iodine is not tested very frequent and is somethign that can cause some really nasty things if elevated. Avoid dosing iodine period. I was told originally that adding it weekly is good for your corals, but it can cause so much more problems, ie causing your shrimp to molt prematuraly etc. that the risk outweighs the benefits greatly

Yeah I have shrimp and I hear a lot of negative effects when adding iodine,I agree it definitely sounds like a molt is on it's way.
