The tank is a zeroedge with a empty water capacity of ~25 gallons.

I did not like the huge amounts of evaporation nor the lack of flow, so I plumbed the aquarium to be a rimless.

I need to move the return from the sump so that it's not in the centre of the tank...but, I'm lazy.

I plan to do a few tech upgrades before I get serious about stocking it. First and foremost...I need a par meter.

The aquarium is about 3 months old and I do have livestock in it. For now I'm mainly just collecting frags.

    Welcome to 3reef.

I love the look of zero edge tanks.

Welcome to the reef. I like that you converted your tank to a rimless. Although I really like how zeroedges look I have seen too many were the the flow over the edge is too turbulent and then you can only look at the tank from above, which I don't like.

The battle between having proper flow for the animals and keeping that crisp and clean overflow was not one I was enjoying. I'm much happier now, as is the livestock.

Not to mention the fish that carpet surf from the overflow...that got old.

    My dirty, but effective sumpfugium.

I spread and rotate the cheato weekly, it grows well, but it grows dense. To make sure It doesn't kill parts of itself in addition to rotating it I also remove a handful every two weeks or so.

I have no real desire to be constantly monitoring my calcium and alkalinity levels, but, because I have the clams I have to do so with more care then my general laziness wants. Luckily I like pickles a lot an have tons of calcium hydroxide.

The crocea is my second clam, the first one may not actually be a clam at all, I'm not very familiar with bivalves and what makes a clam a clam and an oyster an oyster. I purchased a wild collected St. Thomas mushroom, and it came attached to a NPS bivalve approximately 3 inches long and 2 inches wide, the bag broke during shipping and the mushroom never recovered, but the bivalve has been filtering my aquarium and sucking up calcium for the past 2 months.

Tank looks good, I think that might be an oyster you are holding.

Let me know when you are throwing out the cheato, I would be happy to take some of it.
