    Hey all,

I was wondering if anyone had any experience with a Blue Dot/Spot Puffer in a reef tank? I know they may go after your CUC and shrimp, but just wondering if anyone had luck with them. There's a nice one at my LFS and I was just wondering if they are absolutely not reef safe or if there's a 50/50 thing going on.

    Thanks!

My understanding is all puffers are considered not reef safe.

If you have SPS corals, there's a good chance it will chew on them to keep it's beak trimmed. It will sometimes bite other fish. Sometimes they even eat softy corals too. People who like this puffer tend to like Valentini puffers too. Both species behave the same.
