I have what I believe is a Blue faced angel, I don't have a camera to take a picture...

Anyway I got him about a week to ~ 2 weeks ago. He has had Ich as have all my other fish. A good supplemented diet with many feedings and Selcon has shown to be the answer to the Ich for most of my fish. Only two have it now.

I have not once seen him actually eat the prepared foods I put in the tank, and I have the whole variety, blood worms, mysis, krill, etc.

I have seen him once pecking at the sand and I think once at a rock, I do have Copepods...could he be eating them instead? I'm hoping he doesn't die..that's $120....about 3 hours of my pay check :-/

He's always out swimming around the tank...but today has taken to hiding behind a rock and only sometimes popping out to swim around.

    Anything you all can suggest?

Have you tried soaking the food in garlic and using food meant for angels?

    +1 on above

also seaweed strips (Nori) which can also be covered in Garlic to attract

on occasions I have had browsing species of fish reluctant to take food in the water column I have done as follows
remove a small rock with plenty of crevices, load some food , smear it over the rock, gently lower it into the tank, and hopefully the fish finds it and browses on it

No sir, should I use garlic guard? One of my foods does say angels on it specifically.

I have the strips, im reluctant to add them though, my triggers tear it off the clip and the strip floats into my powerheads and well heh. I'll try it out. Thanks guys.

My suggestion is that you remove the Angel along with the Niger and Blue throat Triggers. You will continue to have Ich problems (and others) until you do this.

How big is the angel? I've found that adult or more matured angels tend to adapt poorly to captivity compared to juveniles. Getting the angel to eat is the biggest hurdle, ich or no ich. All you can do is to try all the different foods available out there until you find something that it will eat and keep feeding that until the angel is back to full health. Some of the things that have worked for me in the past for finicky eaters include clams on a half shell, live brine shrimp, and live blackworm.

Also, it sounds like the angel is already in your DT. If possible, house it in a separate QT until it's eating well. I QT all my incoming fish so they can get used to eating prepared foods, not just to treat them for diseases. There is no competition and less stress on the new fish in a QT by itself. Good luck.
