There currently in my DT and are swimming as a unit..
I'm curious of there health,I know there the perfect starter fish along side there counterpart the damsels..
Although is there anything I should be aware of while caring for these little reef happy fishes?

I've heard that they will pick eachother off until there is only 2 left. I only have 1 in my tank, and he eats anything that goes in the tank

    Frozen, live , pellet, flakes

They usually won't fight if there's a bunch of them. I always recommend 1 fish or 5 or more fish. A lot of their deaths is not caused by fighting...it's weakness due to malnutrition. They have a high metabolism and need to be fed a couple of times per day.

It really depends. I started with 10 in my tank and now I am down to five and its been that way for about 3 - 4 months. I don't know if it was due to health, being stalked by a starfish i later found was eating my fish, or the pecking order thing. But the rest has been schooling together and brought out my shy fish. Mine pretty much eat everything given to them that can fit into their mouths.

I think keeping fish well fed make a big difference in how aggressive the pecking order is.

They need to be fed at least twice a day to keep them healthy and not picking on each other. Odd numbers in the school are good too for some reason.

i got 2 b/g chromis as my first fish. that was 6 months ago. both are still doing well. they eat whatever. i try to feed them some flakes now and again to make sure their diet is well rounded.

    best of luck
