    Hippo Tangs are very shy. It will usually take awhile before they "come out to play". Mine hid in the rocks for weeks when I got her. I used to feed the tank and walk away and watch from a distance. Chances are she is fine when you are not looking.

    there all getting along n i haven't seen any aggression toward any one.. oh n to answer one question i don't know how long he had her but he had abot 6 in the same tank.. n i was told that they should be ok as long as not same type

    It is a dry heat, yeah right !
    But the other tangs may be showing non typical signs of aggression like posturing or dashing. One tang raising it's fins in a certain manner can stress another tang out. You may have just gotten a shy fish it happens. I would give her/him more time, but make sure you are giving her/him adequate privacy during feedings.

    try to feed her what it was eating in the store (hopefully it was eating in the store before you bought it). Regals are very shy and may feel threatened by the other tangs in the tank (even if you cant read their body language)
