blue hippo tang turning all black

i have had this hippo tang now for four months, and when i got it , it was normal color. dori from nemo movie. now it is all black except for yellow tail and a small blue oval on each side. i took some photos and showed it to my local fish store and they said they have never seen or heard of anything like this. said it was worth thousands. anyone out there knows anything i sure could use some advise. you can email me for a photo at wlfbb@yahoo.com

so, are you trying to see what is wrong with your hippo or your trying to find out what is worth to sell.

I've seen a hippo tang exactly like you describe at my LFS. It was priced the same as the regular blue/black/yellow hippos. My LFS had 3 actually.

 

I found his thread on another forum where he mentioned he put a picture on craigslist. Here's the link with photo, but you can't really even see what's in the pic.
He's asking $1000 for it.

I wouldn't pay a thousand for that. This I would pay a thousand for. Can't you go to a LFS that has a lot of hippo tangs and pick the one that has the pigment?.
