Blue hippo tang

Just got a large blue hippo tang today for 41 dollars! i was super excited when i bought it. But after i did 20 percent water change he started to lay almost flat down against rocks. Is this normal? and what should i feed him to make him feel more at home?

 

Blue Tangs are CRAZY. They will make you believe they are dead--especially at first. Just give him time, he will be OK.

Can you tell me what to feed blue hippo tang?

 

They are primarily herbivores. They will eat mysis shrimp, but need veggies in their diet. My hippo tang really likes nori (the seaweed they use to wrap sushi). Be sure to get the kind that is not roasted - sold at health stores or pet stores. You can also use spinach or broccoli, but these are harder for them to digest. I put a strip of nori on a clip or on my magnetic cleaner in the tank, and the tangs come and nibble on it.
