Ok, so I have this one blue legged hermit crab that no matter where I put him in the tank, he always finds his way back to my duncans. I've tried moving him multiple times, moving the duncans, moving the rocks around, etc. He doesn't climb up in them but instead wiggles his way underneath the heads and just sits there. There is no visible damage occurring but the one head that he likes to stay under doesn't open up as much as it would if he wasn't there. Any ideas as to why my hermit is doing this and if there is anything I should do about it?

Do you target feed the duncan? Maybe he is smart and waiting for a snack.

I was thinking that too. I do target feed them but I never see him go for any of it.

Sounds like the crab made a house. Do you have a sump to put him in for a little while (make sure it gets food occasionally)? Who knows why crabs do what they do, they have their own sets of instincts etc it probably just feels comfortable under there.
I wouldn't worry too much unless it stops opening up period.

Unfortunately I don't have a sump at this point. I could put him in my pod farm, it gets no lights but has a heater, some lr rubble, and very small circulation.
