Blue Leg Hermits, on zoas! not reef safe?

    their on my new corals, are they not reef safe? or are they ok?

    my bluelegs crawl all over my corals, but they don't hurt them.

    ok, just wanted to make sure, this is my first coral so i didn't know, i just hope their not pissing them off, i want them tall to open

    yea, they might close up for a minute, but don't worry it's not gonna hurt them.

    same here. never hurt them. just liked to poke em and watch em close up. lol interesting creatures hermits are. :p

    I've heard that they destroy GSP but don't know how true that is!

    ok good to hear, i have like 3 hermits on them, i guess they have really misssed corals

    lol they sure are, funny how they knew about the new corals

    wow really, wonder if that really is true :)

    Ea don't sweat it though I've noticed all my crabs run staight to corals as soon as I put them in if you watch I bet yours do to

    What mantis said. Our GSP grows the fastest out of all of our corals...nothing destroys that stuff.

    And hermits will walk over everything. Especially at night. A new zoa might close up for a bit longer, but a zoa that's used to it will pretty much close up when the crab's on it, and then open right back up just a bit after the crab leaves. Currently, there are 5 crabs on our GSP at 11pm. i'm not bothering to count zoa crabs. Rest assured, they're there :lol:

    In actuality, they're probably helping the coral. Zoas and GSP and other corals don't exactly clean themselves, do they? ;) Having some crabs clean in those hard to reach spots probably helps out alot.
