One of the coolest things about living in Hawaii is that if you have the right permits (which I do!), you can collect your own critters!! Anthelia edmondsoni is an endemic to Hawaii and is very common all over the place. These are not 'reef building' coral and are therefore allowed to be collected as long as you do not take a peice of the rock underneath. The polyps are tiny (1/4" maybe?) and do not get any larger, though I hear the colony gets big quickly. Unfortunately, I am using a ziptie to hold these guys onto a small rock. Ive read that you can use superglue with these guys and that the glue will harden in the water. Will superglue have any negative consequences for these guys or should I just leave the ziptie on?

Superglue is generally fine. If your worried about it they make special epoxies for aquarium use.
