Does anyone have any experience in owning these fish. My research shows easy care and had a question or two. I have one green chromis now and wanted to get 2 more. Will the existing one start schooling with two new ones and was thinking of getting 3 Blue chromis. Any thoughts. Also what are the chances of all of them schooling together. Not sure if they will but that would be cool if they did.

I have a pair of blue green chromis and they are doing great. Sometimes you will see them together but most of the time they do their own thing. Feed them once a day and they are happy. I believe you can only have similiar ones in the same tank, unless it is a big tank

OK let me add to the questions. Are the two different chromis compatible as well? Can't find any info on that question as well.

I was told one species per tank unless it is a big tank.

I've never heard of Blue Chromis before so I can't comment on them.

I had bought three Green Chromis and two of them just hid in the rocks in the back of the tank until they eventually died. Only one survived and it was a tiny one. Last week I bought two new medium sized Green Chromis and they schooled up and took on to the smaller one just fine. They all swim around the tank and are pretty fun to watch. Really cool fish to have and haven't shown any aggressiveness to my fish(Canary Blenny, Clownfish, and Mandarin).

remember that they are members of the damsel family. You may be ok, you may not, it really depends from fish to fish. I have three green chromis and they are great together. They only school when they are scared or frightened, they rarely do it just for the heck of it. Although they do tend to stick together.

I have 10 green chromis in my tank and added 2 orange lined chromis a few months ago (liveaquaria actually sent me the wrong fish - was supposed to get orange lined cardinals instead). Anyway, I added them just to see and now it's like I have a school of 12 except 2 are black so it's possible they may get along.
