I've only had Green Chromis, but will get the Blue ones next time just because they look nicer. The Green ones are as peaceful a fish as there is. I've never seen them act aggressively to any fish, even new tank additions. While the other fish would pick on the newcomers for about 30 minutes, the Green Chromis wanted nothing to do with them. I usually stock only peaceful fish, so tank aggression towards the Greens is never a problem. I've kept 4 at a time (ordered 5 but one didn't last very long for whatever reason) and they do school together, just not all the time. They all did hang together during feeding as they usually were on one side by themselves as my Osc Clowns liked to steal food from them if they were on the same end of the tank (would actually take it out of their mouths while they were trying to eat). So i fed the clowns on one side and the Chromis on the other. Clowns are pigs as they will literally eat till they explode. Wish I could answer about mixing Greens and Blues, but I've never tried it, so I really don't know.

I had a school of 6 green chromis, of which 4 are still with us. They displayed schooling behavior since the minute they were added to the tank. They are a very peaceful and busy fish. They swim in their little school all day back and forth in front of the rockwork until the lights go out. Then, they peacefully school with my two clownfish in the corner of the tank for about an hour before it gets really dark, then they go to sleep in the back, behind the rocks.
Although they are not as pretty as blue chromis, which I too wanted, but my former fish guy was unable to get for me, they are an attractive, ulta peaceful, busy fish and are always out and always swim together. Some people say to get at least 4 chromis, so that when one fish becomes dominant, he doesn't pick on the littlest one to death, I have never had any conflict between my former 6 and my current 4.
Get them, they are cheap, eat pretty much anything, and are pretty hardy.

    Good luck,

    Jim

We have the blue reef chromis down here in the keys and I see them all the time. I asked my buddy of is a professional oranamental collector about them, and he said they can get big so he suggested they be keep in a 125 at least.
Hope this helps with your decision. I cant remember the size of your tank.

i had a group of greens in my 75 until the tank died. they tolerated alot of abuse from their newbie owner. started with 8, over time went down to 5.

i'm planning on getting vanderbilt chromis next time around.
