haha i hope not that fish has plenty of character. there are so nice deep little caves in my rock that he likes to hide in. im quite excited but i want to do things right so time is not an issue ill probaly establish a decent bio filter an then introduce the smaller fish and leave the ray until last.

Blue spots need huge tanks, they grow to about 2-3ft in diameter. A good rule of thumb is to have a tank width at least twice their disc diameter, the more the better, and to be 5-10 times in tank length, the more the better. They need lots of room to move around. They are sure are pretty. :)

ok so confirmation my glass is about a week away, so really just twiddling my thumbs. i would like to know though approx how deep a sand bed would be suitable to this type of set up.

When I had my CA round spotted stingrays, I gave them 2" of oolitic sand. It was more than enough for them to burrow themselves in and hide. Just make sure you give them the finest grade sand that you can find, either oolitic or sugar sized sands (without coarse chunks).

now to be even more of a bother, i was wondering about cleaners, i hear often the blue line cleaner wrasse do very poorly in captivity, but i also hear the rays will eat crustaceans so im not sure cleaner shrimp will work either
