Make sure he has some hiding spots and rock/pvc tubes, etc to feel secure in. Acclimate it right and you should be ok. Are you treating for everything right away, or just observing to look for signs of ich, parasites, fungus, other diseases, etc?

Me personally I don't qt fish, especially my tangs. I think they get too stressed from being in a small box and just isn't worth stress on the aninmal. Most diseases or parasites can be fixed with reef safe remedies nowadays and generally if the fish have a good immune system and stable environment, they can overcome most issues.

Im not sure what the best thing to do is right away? Should I go ahead and put the ick-attack in tonight so it will have a night to filter or just wait for signs? Also, how long should he be in QT before putting him in my 75 gal? ive also decided to purchase the UV sterlizer by Coralife and will have that running in the tank by Friday.

I just want to make sure he is healthy and not stressed... our tank is doing very well. Weve just recently tested the water and everything is perfect. I just dont know about the ich and stuff.... makes me nervous to read so many stories about tangs and how easily they can get it...

just so you know and most will agree. A 75 gallon tank is too small for a hippo tang no matter what size the fish is. it needs a ton of swimming room. Obviously this advice is a little late so if it were me, I would hold on to the ich attack untill needed. I would add the fish straight to the display and start feeding him/her garlic soaked food for the first couple of weeks.

+1, my thoughts exactly. I still have yet to qt a fish. Just more undue stress IMHO, increasing the chance something will go wrong. Don't get me wrong, a qt/ht tank will have its place, but to qt a fish and start treatments on something it might not even have, that's just asking for more to even happen ;)

I use the qt system. I normally give the fish a few days (2-3) before I treat them with any precautionary meds so that they are not so stressed. Sounds like you are going to do the aggressive quarantine method, if so I wouldn't rush it. Give the tang some time to chill out first.

I have never had to do this. I have three tangs (supposed ich magnets) that have yet to break out.

It's really up to you. Some people quarantine, some don't. I personally don't believe disease is always present in our tanks. I believe it has to be introduced by a carrier, so that is why I make every attempt to not to introduce it into tanks. But if it does get in, there are ways to effectively deal with and that is why other people don't sweat it. Even with quarantining, IMO passive quarantining is pointless and mind as well just put the fish into you system. I hate to sound redundant, but it is really up to you.
