Pretty easy to keep IMO, They are very prone to Ich however. So having an established tank with a good size run is a plus.

Mine I got was about the size of a Nickel, almost 6 months later is about 3" big. Very personable :)

No, the only issue is when they are tiny that they don't have the best survival rates.
That said, I bought one about 1 and a 1/4" long and it is doing great. Fearless little guy in big tank with big fish.

It was 12.50 so it was worth a risk.

    That's about 18.50 USD to 30.50 USD.

Not bad really, as I got a smokin' deal on mine.

    Hippo

I love hippo tangs. i have had luck with one of them and he lived about 3 years. Yellow tang i have kept i kept with the hippo tangs. i have learned you need a lot of algae for them to eat and to add the yellow tang last and make sure its your last tang. Yellow tangs are very aggressive to the same body type tangs. Any other body style should be ok.

I have a yellow tang, a hippo tang, a powder blue tang, and a scopus tang. The yellow tang was first. I change the landscape and add them at night. I haven't had any problems. My Biggest challenge was getting the powder blue to eat. Someone here suggested red sea weed. They all eat it very well, but wont touch any other kind.
