    Hello,

Came home tonight with a blue throat trigger tonight and i have some questions

My yellow tang is giving it grief by pushing it around with its tail and nipped its back fin , however the trigger asks for more my bushing against my yellow tang. My small clown fish craps itself when the trigger comes near it and swims to the top of the tank.

Currently the trigger is going in and out of my rock work and making a sand mess..

I don't want my other clown fish to die as i lost one yesterday which got sliced by (inlet valve) me when it somehow managed to find its way down my overflow.

    Keep it or return?

How big is your tank? is the yellow tang and blue throat about same size?

Its bigger than my yellow tang. I'd say its just about medium sized.

My tank is 120G long. I know on live aquaria it states 180G.... but a friend will have it off me once it gets too big.

yellow tang are aggresive once established,i reckon anyway. and 120 gallon i think is enough room for both of them for now, have you got heaps of caves?

had same problem before with my yellow tang and newly added orange shoulder, but i rearrange rock work... worked for a bit.. but its still aggresive after a while.
is the blue throat eating and swimming around a little though at least?

Theres a reason that sites like LA give tank measurements. Its not just because of the mature size of the fish. This is a common misconception that sometimes makes me want to bang my head on a rock.;) It is in LA's(and every other vendor who sells fish) interest to have as many potential customers as possible. Therefore even there tank size estimates are on the small side and nowhere does it say these estimates are for a matutre version of said fish .IME These fish need a great deal of room in order to be happy and not become so aggresive to tank mates. I realize its the Yellow Tang thats showing aggresion right now but don't be surprised if after the Trigger has been in there for a few days that the tables turn and it shreads the tang and or others. Never a good idea to house an inappropriate fish in your tank regardless of your intentions to later remove it.
