    going to go to the lfs this weekend, and if they have one, i'm going to get it :D and hopefully it will take care of all my algae :)

    Just know it will also eat all your coraline algea as well

    It will also wear your coral like a hat... Long spine urchin is the better one IMO

    They're awesome. They don't eat coralline fast enough for it to matter and they only help to frag and spread your coral once in a great while. They do love to wear snails as disguise though. Long spine urchins get way way too big for most tanks. When your tank is only 36" long I don't think you would want a 12" across ball of spikes hanging around.

    I got talked into a blue tux urchin and I love the little guy.

    i have the same urchin only white.. Other than picking up snails and hermits and a loose coral or two. I love it.. Long spines tend to know everything over and well to me are a eye sore cause they can get so BIG...

    The only thing to watch out for with urchins is they love to turn rocks over for some reason. I have one that almost every other day manages to get under a rock and flip it over. So, if your rocks aren't glued down or you have corals on some, keep a close eye on him.

    im cool with that, i'd rather sacrafice the coralline than have a ton of algae :)

    will d. I'll keep an eye out on that, my rocks are pretty big, so hopefuly it won't try to turn them over
