Doesn't look like the "hard to get rid of bryopsis".

I agree. Pull the longer stuff off and load up on snails and hermits. Maybe even get one algae eating blenny. Get your calcium/alk/magnesium levels nice and steady and reduce nitrates and phosphates as has already been suggested. It may take a few weeks/months to get the algae under control so be patient. I would not suggest pulling rock out and scrubbing it as you will kill off bacteria by doing that which may cause small nitrate spikes. When pulling the long stuff out, try to catch any strands that float off with a net.

cool so i still have hope, no pulling rock is last resort since its all secured to a support. hopefully with some improved husbandry i can beat this.
possibly even a new skimmer may be in the mix. but i look at that option after the cheaper options fail. lol. really trying to get a good feeding routine with flake/pellet food. as i think my constant feeding with frozen has really helped to fuel the green fire. and im going in like 5 to get some more cleaning crew. proly gonna ask my lfs if they will lend me one of their royal urchins.

what about phosphate removing media will this affect the macro in my fuge?

If you can rent/borrow a couple of large turbos, they will make pretty quick work of the stuff. Thay are just a bit clumsy though. Hence, rent/borrow.

so im back with some extra cleaners, got 2 more turbos, 4 more assorted hermits, 4 more nass. snails, and a mithrax crab, all just given to me on loan, im going to see what seems to eat it the most then go with more of that animal. so far the mithrax crab is first ive seen to munch into a patch of the gha actully took in a pretty good size piece.if he keeps up eating the algae he can stay but ive heard these guys can be montsters sometimes, so im monitoring him closely. they were out of other snails so couldnt test them yet.

later this week(after payday) il get the choosen cleaners and maybe a phos reactor.

thanks for all your input, ill post some more pics that dont include tank killing algae.

How many snails total do you have in this tank (and remind me of the size of the tank too)?

oh i read somewhere that lettuce nudibranchs eat bryopsis, how true that is i dont know.
My experience with them tho is they find a corner and curl up and die in it.

i got like 10 of the nass. snails and 4 turbos. in a 60 gal long display,10 gal fuge, 15 gal sump.

thinking im gonna take the emerald out already, he hasnt done anything wrong, but i was up all night reading threads about how evil they are. maybe i let him play in the fuge or sump for a while.dont wann take the chance of him eating my o. goby(clown goby). or my scooters.

they had some lettuce nudi's but ive heard so many stories of them not surviving, so did not get one.
