Here we go........I have never done a "build thread", I am not a very good photograper and I am not a very good writer. But I have read a good many of these and I hope I can do as good a job as others.

Mr. Blumoon and I will both be updating this as we go and it might be a couple of months until this thing sees any water, so be patient....good things come to those who wait. ;)

Hi, my name is Blumoon and I am a reef-a-holic. We started our first tank (a used 75) just a little over a year ago and quickly became addicted. We upgraded to a 150 reef and are loving watching that become a beautiful, living piece of art in our living room. We also found that there were a lot of fish that we liked, but could not have in a reef. So a FOWLR was always in the back of our minds. After purchasing a pink tail trigger, that quickly became our favorite fish, that decided to become NOT INVERT SAFE, we decided to push up the idea of a FOWLR sooner rather than later.

We are very, very lucky to have a fabulous and trusted LFS that loves to step outside the box. ;D And he happens to have a brilliant, talented cabinet maker.

    Here is yesterdays delivery:

Thanks (it is a lot bigger in my office than it was in the store). Tank is a standard 265 84x24x30. The columns for the stand are 31" square and 84" tall. The concept is to have the tank "suspended" between the 2 columns. It's really not, the tank is supported all the way around with 4 micro laminated beams that are hidden by the tank itself and the columns.

There will be a sump in one column and a fuge in the other.

Definitely a nice tank. I could live in it with room to spare.

Yes, GTS and I have the same LFS. And yes, it is a marineland tank.

Me too. Right now it is standing on it's end and Mr. Bluemoon can stand up in it. Sorry, we don't have any young kids at home to take the usual "kid in the tank" picture.

We wanted to have a unique tank. Lot's of people in our local area have large tanks with the standard stands. Some have used the same cabinet maker and have awesome set-ups, but we wanted to be a little different.

I can't take credit for the concept. Again, we have a very creative LFS we are just the only ones willing to give it a shot. I admit to having some sleepless nights about this tank. Thanks for following, I hope we don't bore anyone too much!
