Darn, that sucks man, k+ to you. Perhaps you could nuke the rock and start over, if it's going to take 3 months? Not something you want to do, but that's a heck of a case of algae and it may be easier to just re-cycle.

If I did anything I would probably tear down and wait to restart. We might be moving in the next year anyways, so I don't want to get everything stable then move. This is a last resort, I was really hoping it would be going good and when we moved I could have a 120 set up to move everything into it.:-/

I'm not planning on it, but would rather not tear the tank down to start over then move the tank right away. The only lesson I can think of right now is not to buy cheap lights and not to buy diseased fish:p

And don't overfeed a tank. I catch myself getting in a rut and over feeding my tank, everyone does it.

The bulbs I originally bought were an off brand, I wont say which one. After talking to Tangster I think they lost their spectrum a little too soon, helping the algae out. I will now only use SPS bulbs by blue life. And I don't feel overfeeding caused it, but I may be wrong. One small pinch of flakes every other day was it.

Blue Life makes SPS bulbs. I remember you always spot feeding frogspawn and other corals too. That is extra food in the water column.

That's what I said;)!! I was gonna run and check but got lazy::)!

I spot fed them about every other week and would do it as a replacement for the flakes. All the fish ate the baby shrimp so it took the place of the flakes when I did it. I might be wrong but after seeing how much some people feed (2 or 3 times a day) I feel that I was feeding the right amount. I consulted with you and Kris about how much to feed and a small pinch every other day was the consensus we all came to. I'm just trying to figure out where to go from here:confused:
