Love what you've done with the rock work. Looks great! Those clownfish were ok in there during the cycle?

Thanks Froc... I wanted a lot of rock in the tank, but I like the more "open" design so I shot for the best of both worlds, lots of caves, and I can see behind the rock pretty darned good from the sides. As for the clowns, I had a family member that was letting his 30 gal. "die," the filter was barely running, hardly ANY flow, so I bought his 2 clowns, 2 yellow tailed damsels and about 10 lbs. of rock for $20. They all made it through the cycle, and actually improved!!! Fin rot started to grow back, and they are alot more active. I attribute this to the cycling tank being healthier than his "death tank"!!

So that is where the MD came from and the package of gum my youngest got into. I was getting blamed for that one from Mommy.

She will never let us into the house again!! Sorry, it fell out of my coat when I layed it down! At least I remembered my coat...

    Anyways, back to my tank!:p

Got the canopy on the other day, thought I would post a pic. Hopefully pics of my full light setup will be posted by this weekend!! As you can see, Maycie is very proud of her dad's handiwork, even though she doesn't like taking a backseat to the fishies!! I am skipping a feeding tonight, I am down to feeding the smallest pinch of flakes possible, and my nitrates are still high so I think I will switch to everyother day very small feedings.

Looks real good bmshehan! Nice job with the rock and it is very nice to see you taking this slow!! Can't wait to see it when it's on and with all the colors. That's going to be one good looking tank! Looks a lot bigger with that hood, than my 55! NICE

Thanks!!! As far as taking it slow, it's hard to resist urges, but I can't believe the number of people who rush into this hobby! They come on here for help and advice, the only thing EVERYONE on here seems to agree upon is GOING SLOW, yet a lot of nubies refuse to do so. Not me!!

As with the hood, it was kinda overbearing when first installed, as I went without for over 2 months. But it's growing on us, we just have to get used to it!!

Thanks for your kind words!! Lots more pics on the way...

Hey all, got my actinics going today!!!;D:beer::grinthumbs:

They are 2 UVL 46.5" VHO Super Actinic T12 bulbs powered by a PFO 2 bulb Retro Kit... both bulbs are on the same ballast. Plan on running these alone for a couple weeks then firing up my MH's. I will be getting those in soon and will update pics of the install when I do. Anyone know how to cure the "halo" created around the tank from the lights??

In the meantime here are some pics (as long as Luna will share them;D)...

As you can see... I AM GOIN SSSLLLOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!
