think I am going to stick wiht Bobbi and keep it Bob for short! ;D She is Bob to me and I dont think I can call her anything else

Poor thing...I thought I would try to feed her tonight so I placed a snail in front of her den. She picked up that snail and threw it across the tank. It was soo funny!

It was almost like she had morning sickness and the site of food made her sick and she had to get rid of it:-X That snail went flying

    Leggo my Eggo, prego! :D

Poor mommy. How long do you think she'll have the eggs, since they are not fertile? Hopefully she won't have her hopes up and carry them around forever and ever...

Oh I know! Poor Princess was only 1/2" long when I got her. She hitched a ride to an LFS from Florida live rock, then hitched a ride from the LFS to a customer, then the customer was nice enough to catch her (not kill her) and brought her to another, more trustworthy LFS. And that LFS called me because they knew I wanted a mantis. I went to check her out (she could go into a 1" hermit shell, spin around, and come back out), and I brought her home that same day :D Such a long journey for the wee one.

not sure...I am probably going to go in and get them soon....as she is not eating and is probably due for another molt. The last one was very hard on her and I want to make sure she has her strength up before she does it.

I have a plan to get them...or I am going to call Inwall to come over and get them! LOL
That is if she doesnt eat them soon

Well if she does eat them, that solves her "not eating problem". Two birds with one stone, eh? Haha if you resort to bringing the Inwall beast over to get them, I wish him well :D

I figured that the eggs were not fertile but I was not 100% sure. I had posted on another site....BAD MELISSA! LOL....as this site has a forum just set up for mantis shrimp. It is mod by a stomatopod specialist. He said that a female can hold onto male sperm for a very long time, however once the molt they will loose it. She has molted about 3 or 4 times since I have had her..

Ha Ha, inwall was actually the one who told me what he did to get his female eggs from her! He has had his hands in more mantis tanks then we can imagine. He has no fear. Though I dont think I could stnad to watch him do it. I am still nervous whenever anybody but me has their hand in the tank! He had his hands in the tank once and I was a nervous wreck. You know how your mantis is around you...but I fear what she will do with someone elses.

Plus she is majorily cranky...major PMS! I had a silverside that I tried to feed her on my feeding stick and she smacked the heck out of it

This makes me happy that my mantis is only 1.5" long...if she clubbed me it wouldn't be the end of the world. Or the end of my finger. Maaan I wanted a smithii soooo bad :D However, I am very happy to be Princess's human. :)
