I paid for a live rock from petco last month and it's full of little white moving things "looks like lice" and centipedes looking red/pink things.

The only thing i can think to do is to dip the rock in boiling water for a few mins to get rid of these pests.

    What do ya think?

Sounds to me like thats the last thing you want to do. Those are prob pods and beneficial to your tank.

Those "pests" are why it's called live rock. You want them.

those "lice" may be copepods or some plantkton like animals that are good. just cuz you dont like them, doesnt me that you should kill em, theyre probably whats going to make your tank thrive in the long run. life starts at the most basic level in any food chain. In our tanks thats pods and any holoplankton, for that matter. so we def want those.

Just make sure they are good guys, and not pests.

I would take the advice in here, the one you described seriously sounds like bristle worms and from what I thought I knew and what I been reading lately really has me confused, I need to post a question :D

Beneficial pods and beneficial bristleworms. Boiling the rock will kill everything, including the bacteria that makes it "live" rock. Then it's just base rock & you'll still need to seed your tank with bacteria and beneficial creatures...
