I'm about to pull the trigger on 2x of these, anyone see why I shouldn't? I've been toying with the idea of starting a pet store in a few years, and would like the chance to experiment with as many corals as possible. Down the road if the pet store does materialize I would be using these in the coral tanks if I found that I liked them. Should I be able to keep almost anything with these lights (and a good system) If I acclimate the corals to the light correctly?

What about moving these corals to a lower light tank (customers) anyone see any problems with this?

FYI been in the FW hobby for around 13yrs, just got into the SW/Coral side of things (reason for giving myself a few years to get this off the ground). Tank is 75gal. no corals currently finishing up on my FO stocking list with a PC that was given to me before I made the jump to a better light.

Any and all advice would be helpful. Thanks in advance, you guys are great.

I just purchased this fixture, I haven't recieved it yet but from what I have read and the tanks I have seen with this fixture, I think its top notch. The par graphs on BoostLED's website say a lot just by themselves. The only thing about their fixtures is that they are not dimmable, IMO that doesn't bother me at all but overall its your choice. They do have two seperate cords, one for actinic and uv LED's and one for the rest of the actinic and white LED's

Being a previous owner of this fixture, I think it is probably the most bang for your buck in a retail fixture! It provides nice power in a compact package...and the addition of the UV LEDs gives it something special that only a select few manufactures have. The colors I got out of corals and some fish blew my previous MH/T5 combo away! Go for it. You won't be disappointed.

FaceofDeceit I happened to see on Brennan's build thread that you had sold yours to him... but (while I was in the process of looking you up to ask you about them) you are posting very positive things about them. I am going to assume that you didnt have any issues with the lights just upgraded (to what I'm not sure)/had other reasons to sell them.

I "downgraded" due to an upcoming move to a 29 Gallon tank. This light is too much for that size tank. I had built a CREE DIY setup previously that I just added onto for the 29 gallon lighting. No issues whatsoever with it. Loved the light, and the color.

Alright, good to hear. Anyone else have an opinion on this? Think it will be difficult to acclimate the amount of corals going in and out of the tanks in a LFS type environment (hopefully I have alot of turnover :p)?

I have two of these fixture on my 125 and the corals love them. Just remember to acclimate your coral to the light. they are bright. But work great.

    Def agreed 100% with this.

Better to start the fixtures REALLY high and slowly (two inches or so a week!) lower them until you have found the right balance of coverage and power.

But agree with all above posters.

Especially FOD's comment with respect to the value of the fixture. Their pricepoint is excellent and with the sale - just an added bonus.

You will not regret the fixture - and the customer service backing it up is second to none!
