That fixture is not great. Compared to the boost fixture. It only uses 110w of LEDs not 150w. As many have stated before companies that do not provide a spectrograph of their units should be avoided. Lastly have you checked out Orpheks products? In another thread about led lighting on here some experts have gone into great detail about why the orphek diodes are superior in their color spectrum and that most white LEDs have a lot of wasted pur.

IDK why the browser says 150watt, but on the site there is no mention of 150watt led fixtures.

I am just throwing other options out there. I have read nothing but good reviews on the fixture.

I'm about 99% certain that I'll pull the trigger on two of these for my 90 gallon. I'm going to put them in a canopy so I'll probably have to acclimate using some type of screen/light filter material vs. hanging high and lowering. Any ideas on what I can use as a light filter/screen?

    Weeeellllll......

I just got one for my 40b. Just too good of a deal to pass up. I'll just have to get creative on the mounting.

I recieved theese lights about 2 weeks ago, got 2 fixtures for my 120 gal reef tank. At first I was very hessitant when I first put them above my tank, was so used to my halides. Now almost 2 weeks later I cannot see ever going back to MH. It's july now reaching 90's here and after running them for 10 hrs a day I can touch the underbelly of the fixture and barely feel any heat at all, my temp has virtually no swing, all my corals love them, as for growth I cannot speak as of yet since it's too soon to tell. But I will say some of my slower growing zoas have all of a sudden sprouted several new polyps.

When I turn off the whites and leave the blues on for actinics POP look out put on some sunglasses the colors are amazing, the best example I can think of would be if you remember the old 80's blacklight posters, well thats what my tank looks like now. I say order them, enjoy them, and you wont regret them. I'll be buying more for my frag tanks very soon.

Not sure where you live, but here they sell solar screen at home depot or lowes and such. Its a screen material made to block out some of the sunlight from your home windows. Relatively cheap stuff, I plan on using 1-2 layers of that for a while!

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that from my experience acclimating corals is rarely necessary. I've moved every species of coral from T5 to MH to LED in all power ranges and have noticed little effect on them. I would almost say this is a myth if not for the extreme bleaching that monti shows when moved to higher light to fast. IMO the bleaching people see and so quickly blame on too much light to fast is actually stress from being moved between systems.

I'm sure you love your BoostLEDs. That company is top notch!
