I ordered the BRS booster pump kit and am a bit confused as to where the pressure switch goes. They say it should go on the output line if you use an automatic shut off system with your RO/DI. I don't....

My question is: can I put it on the input line right after the faucet, so as to trigger the booster pump to turn on whenever I channel water to my RO/DI unit from the faucet? Right now I just have my pump set up where I need to plug it in whenever I make RO/DI water.

    Thanks

It wouldn't work properly that way... A pressure switch is designed to cut off the pump once the output reaches the set pressure; connected to the input side, it would simply allow the pump to run continuously, with or without water.

agreed, to my knowledge the pressure switch is only made to work with auto shutoff systems

Once the pressure in the 1/4" line reaches 150 PSI it switches off the pump. The main purpose is for ATO.
