I have the spectrapure 4stage maxcap 90gpd and i got new filters and everything and i was wondering since my water pressure was 40psi and below i was going to get a booster pump. I see that spectrapure has them on sale and was thinking if I could get away with getting one rated up to 60gpd or would i HAVE to get the one rated for my system. the reason i am wondering is that it is the only time that i would be making 30+gals on the ro/di filter at a time? Thanks!!

I think the <60 pump wouldn't be able to raise your pressure much, if at all, when dealing with 90GPD.

Booster pumps are designed for the membranes flow rate not how much you make in a day.
You need the high flow pump, the low flow is for 50-60 GPD membranes maximum and will be overworked on a 90 GPD membrane.

The biggest advantage is not that it will make water faster with a booster pump but it will make better water so your DI resin wil not have to work as hard and will last much longer between replacements saving you even more money.

BTW, the MaxCap is 5 stages, a prefilter, a carbon block, the RO membrane then two different DI stages. Also not Spectrapure includes the 24v transformer in their Aquatec booster pump kits where some don't so prices can be deceiving.

Correct me if I am wrong, but don't booster pumps allow you to produce the same amount of RO/DI output with less wasted water as well???

Not really, you should never reduce the waste ratio to less than the recommended 4:1 regardless of pressure.
With some vendors who provide fixed flow restrictors in actuality it does reduce the waste though since low pressure causes excess waste as does cold water. Spectrapure uses a capillary tube flow restrictor which you should trim according to your specific conditions and should be 4:1 no matter what the pressure when you trim it correctly.
