I think so too. I see all these crazy prices, I only will use it every couple of weeks. Not like its running 24/7.

Stick with the oldest most trusted name in the business and get the Aquatec 8800. Its been around for years and has a proven track record.

Generally RO units are sediment filter, carbon, then RO membrane. If this is the case, then you are missing the DI cartridge after the RO membrane and this is likely what's causing the hassle. The RO will only take out about 95; of the contaminants, the DI is needed to polish up the water.

What kind of TDS are you having prior to and after the RO unit?

This is not the issue. The issue is my pressure into the unit is 20 psi. I need to boost it too 60 psi to make the unit run efficiently. See attached pic.

The Aquatec 8800 is what Spectrapure uses on their units. Don't stop at 60 psi though, it will perform better at 80-90 psi or more. I run my Maxcap between 90 and 100 psi and get 99.35% rejection rate from RO only with a tap water TDS over 650. Higher pressure makes better water as well as more water, I get close to 120 GPD at that setting.

You dump 99 gallons down the drain to make 1 gallon of RO water?
