Couple hours gone by now, sailfin and very large sgt. major damsel, both appear to be fine with this guy...the sgt. major and the chevron had a few "words" when i put a veggie clip in the tank, but the chevron held his own and the damsel backed off and nothing has happened since..the sailfin did turn to his "pissed off" color at first during feeding, but is now back to normal and never really had a tussle at all with the chevron :) Lets hope this behavior continues, to make this as easy as a transition as possible so no one will get sick :)

Yeh, i have a mandarin too..and its definately a toss up as to who has the brighter color!....being that the tang stays out in the open more, he is definately more enjoyable of the 2

There is no external difference in the chevron tang I believe. I named mine Chevy, When he was weeee little, He would wiggle and then shoot himself into the powerheads flow and then launch himself across the tank. :p Mom says "Chevy goes vroom vroom" Its funny to walk into my room and shes talking to the fish!

You got a heck of a deal at $40 for that Chevron. They go for over $100 here in South Florida and mostly closer to $140. Great buy you have there. Enjoy!:cheesy:

Yeh i know!! I couldnt believe it..i could of gotten a purple tang for the same price, but I was afraid that being the same species as a sailfin, and my sailfin being kind of a jerk to most, that it just wouldnt be a pleasant transition for anyone, and probably end up losing someone..
