Was at the LFS today and they had an active sleeper head running around filtering sand. Girlfriend thought he was cute and I really couldn't resist ::).

I'll post a picture when the sand settles more, he found a patch of undisturbed sand and kicked it up like a cloud of smoke. Maybe I'll call him smokey haha.

Good purchase! I have a diamond goby that keeps my tank sand bed clean as a whistle. He also makes it so I can not leave anything on the sand bed that I don't want to risk being dusted. My sand is pristine white though. Post us a pic!

Alright so its been 2 days and every day the Goby seems to kick up a sand storm every day:-/. It settles at night but he goes right at it again the next day. This is starting to get frustrating. I do have somewhat fine sand though my thought on it was, he'd eventually kick up all the light sand particles, which will get filtered out and what left will be larger grains which won't travel as far.

Anyone with a sleeper head or any other type of sand sifting goby got advice? He's got quite the personality so I'd hate to have to bring him back =/.

I just don't have this problem and only use fine sand...e.g. Nature's Ocean Bio-Active Live Aragonite Reef Sand. My guy is sifting all day without "storms"
