yes very true , just as i said in the other post canister filter or a bucket with a powerhead just so spores do make it to the display
when algae dies it can release spores into the water that might make it to the display

most of us would keep this out of our display tanks. best place for this is in the refugium if you have one. if not bleach the rock. unless you like the look of this but it will keep growing. you could fill the tank with crabs and snails and the may not even take a bite of this. ultimatley your call.

next time don't buy anything from the fishstore because the guy says its good for the tank. do YOUR own research and YOU decide if this is good for YOUR tank.

personally i wouldn't bleach it, just scrub the rock. buy a brand spankin new brush kinda like hte ones ppl use to clean bathrooms, and just put some elbow grease in and scrub off all the macro. all should be well.

That is really cool rock....I would pop it directly in my display! I like all of the interesting life on it. My tang and lawnmower blenny would have a feast! If you have a decent sized clean up crew, a tang or blenny etc, then pop it in the display and they will mow it down or at least keep it under control. Worst case, scrub the algae off, then pop it in. Don't bleach it. It will turn it white and kill EVERYTHING. Might as well bought dry base rock. Good luck.
