if it doesnt look like the pic then more than likely its not a decorator. if your lfs says its reef safe, ask them what it is. but ill bet you a penny it isnt.

Im willing to bump that bet up to $1000 NO CRAB is 100% reef safe. ALL crabs are omnivores.

im a little confused why you would buy something without knowing what it is, how safe it is or if it even has special needs you arent giving it , or may not be able to supply. Hes cute, hopefully he doesnt eat everything in your tank before laying 4lbs eggs and starts eating small children from the nieghborhood. GOOD LUCK!! If he does, i have brats down the road can i borrow him for a weekend?!

Most of us have all made impulse decisions that we may regret later on, hopefully yours is not one of them!

It could be a type of Atlantic mithrax crab ? I have seen them to be totally red and are considered reef safe by some .. Bu so is the green emerald and I don't trust them either .. I have seen all reef safe crabs kill and eat stuff I trust no Crab and even less LFS person with something to sell.. All crabs are opportunistic omnivore feeders . Not i my tnk is all I'd add I could be wrong But I don't think all pit bulls are bad either But i'd not have in my yard ! No matter what Vick said LOL
