Ok, not my brightest move, but I let my heart decide this purchase vs. my head. Yep, been holding out on getting percs and anemone, but no, I went to a different store and got a little, tiny box fish.
Not only does Princess Petunia NOT like flakes, I have to feed the little monster frozen baby brine shrimp with a syringe. (no needle) Couldn't tell if she/he was eating. (about half an inch long)
Needless to say, been reading about food, etc, and well, my 29 gal isn't big enough, and the stressed out toxin part is disturbing. What should I do?
Not to mention the growing to 18 inches!!!

I had two longhorns in a 135 FO tank for about 2 1/2 years. At that point the still where only about 3". Never had any problems with the toxins. I think that the have to be in a pretty high stress atmosphere to release the toxins. Low stress = low problems

Didn't see mine on the list, and can't slap a picture up to show. Little, pale yellow, brown/black spots, no horns.
Do you think that I can put a couple small percs and anenome in without too much stress?

I'm hesitant to say yes. The percula clown can be territorial, so make sure there are plenty of hiding places in the rocks; mine chases all the other fish except the firefish. The anemone is a different problem, as it needs a lot of light to live well. A large anemone could also be a danger to your slow-moving, small boxfish.

i attempted to keep one exactly like what you've described. my LFS called it a "cubicus". anyway he would only eat live and he ended up getting a white looking fungus on his mouth as he was ready to "kick",so i took him out before he released the toxins.

So far, I put in 2 blue chromis, feather duster and emerald crab. All is good right now.;D

Now, my only concern is making or buying a bigger intake filter guard for my pumps to keep Petunia from getting stuck by the suction...FRUSTRATING!!!
Come home from work, and there she is, stuck...

Any suggestions on what to use? Leaning towards small (new) glad storage container, with a lot of holes poked in it, leaving it more of a frame.

How about a vegetable container. I know around here cherry tomatoes and similar small veggies come in a plastic container that might work. Plus, you get to eat the tomatoes;D (Yum!)

Brilliant!!! I didn't think of that!!! No, instead, I was watching tv, racking my brain for ideas, and looking around, staring at a bottle of water. A 5 watt light bulb went off in my head, (not too bright), and I thought that I could modify the size and adapt it to my needs.

    I like your idea BETTER!!!;D

    Thank you!!!!
