    Hey all,
So when I finally fill the new 110, I will do so with RO/DI.

Here is what I am pondering now.

Today, I take my filtered tap water, add salt, and I get 8.4 PH. No muss no fuss.

My RO PH is much less, around 6.0 from tap.

Question is, once I start the RO/DI route, How do I up and maintain an 8.4 PH? Will I need to start with PH buffers and addatives ?

Whats the best way to do this and be successful? I never had to worry about PH before.

    \Cheers

Keep your Alkalinity at a good range (numerous products out there for this), and your pH should stay relatively stable. Key word being should. There are always ups and downs in this hobby. :p

And together with ALK there is Ca and Mg levels that play a part. Do you test for these?

Sure do. Since I switched back to IO-R my CA and Mg have been fine. My Alk after a water change is 2.5 or 12 depending on which kit I use. The ALK will rise to t14 or 16 as time goes on between changes. PH, cause its just shades of purple is tough to read, but it always looks like 8.2 / 8.6 to me.

I started this thread cause my tap water comes out at 7.6, and the RO is 6.0. I am going to make a large batch with salt and check the params to see how far off it will be.

Well, To be fair, I just did another test, "No Corona in over 3 Hours" no really.

    My RO PH reads 6.2 / 6.4, My Tap water reads 7.4 / 7.6.

You may recall a while back my Tap PH jumped from 7.0 to 7.6. That is when my RO was 6.0 and now is 6.2.

I have Well water with a filter tank thingy. The RO is a cheap 2 stage unit. Both maintained once a year.

I am ordering the TIII from Air water Ice, but dont suspect the PH will change too much.

    Thoughts ?
