What exactly am I looking at for the skeletal structure to decide between the two?

Im fairly new to brain corals... I know that a lobo starts off looking like a trachy to start but as it grows its clearly a lobo.

I added this to my post.

Neighbor tom you had mentioned to go off skeleton for ID. Couldnt agree more.
But since his is on the small side is and has such a curvy skeleton could it be different. Im sure it is a FIJI Trachy cause regular trachys arent as curvy.

What Im getting at do welsos start off with an inter twining skeleton or does it start off open and the intertwine?

For example lobos. they dont have lots of sections when starting off. but when they grow they split off into sections.... Im probing for my own knowledge too.

Tatted, you stumped me. I don't really know a whole lot about their growth so I don't feel confident answering this. Maybe someone with more experience on this subject will chime in :)

Heres my fiji trachyphyllia. The fiji trachy's are curvy like mine. regular trachys look lazy and arent as curvy
