Three questions for the folks here.

    1. I recently got a lobo brain coral and I haven't looked at it too much and today I noticed that each lobe of it has a little hole in it, not centered but somewhere on it. Is that the mouth of these?

    2. It looks like a brittle star has made his home in one in between the flesh and the skeleton. There's part of it that seems spaced apart from the skeleton and I see little arms sticking out. Will this hurt my coral and do I need to get it out or will it be fine? I don't want a brittle star to kill off my new coral.

    3. What are early warning signs to look for if the coral isn't doing well? I want to be aware of the warning signs in case they ever happen in the future.

    1. Most likely the mouth
    2. I have never seen a brittle hurt a coral but there is a first time for anything.
    3. receding flesh is the biggest give away to an unhealthy LPS coral. You want the edges to look puffy.
