So, got my first LPS recently. Started this guy out on my sand bed in a 75 gallon currently running 1 10000k and 1 actinic VHO bulb (tank is 2' deep) (i know i could use more light, saving up for an LED solution right now)... anyway. First night i saw pretty good tentacle extension, honestly can't remember if i saw it after that or not... After a few days he seemed to be doing good there so i moved him up a little on the rock. About a week later i noticed he was starting to pull back some. I moved him a little further up and pointed more directly towards the light. This seems to have brought him back to pre-retreat status and i'm beginning to see growth again. This is all fine and dandy however, i've not seen the tentacle extension since... I'm assuming he's either still recovering or still not completely happy... Any suggestions? Should i move up or back down since that's where he seemed happiest? idk... thanks! :)

I would leave it on the sand or on very low rock tops with the base as level as possible.

Hey guys, thought i'd give an update. I went ahead and moved him down lower in the tank, not to the sand bed but on a base rock and oriented as level as i could get him... Seems to be doing much better I saw a small bit of extension last night or the night before around the edges, not much but some. I had to get up stupid early for work today and at 3:45 am he had great full extension! Looking good. here's a pick i snapped on day 1. Only big difference at this point is he's not quite as fluffy yet around the edges but looking much much better. I'll get an update one eventually.
