i have been having problems keeping mostly any type of brain coral alive. i have great params and great lights and they seem to do really good for about 1-2 weeks and then they start turning white on top and then slowly die out. any ideas.

I would say it depends on the depth of his tank, bulb wattage and bulb brand before I would say that what he's working with is not great.

Are you talking about open or closed brains?

Okay cool it shows different lights on your tank description. And I wasnt being rude about the light's so please dont think I was. Those light's are good so I do not see why they would keep dying unless like the other man stated..placement is more than likely the problem. And how deep is your tank? I am very sorry I read th ewhole desription wrong forgive me if I came across as rude it was not my intention's....

Where in your tank have you been placing him. I see it requires only a medium lighting and medium flow and all placement, You cant always go by that though. I found each animal has different places he like to stay. When you get one do you watch him and look for signs of not being happy where he is at then try another location. I am having problems findin a suitable location for a coral I have. Good luck...sorry if I came across wrong..I feel bad for the misreading...

Do you just set him in the tank and hope for the best or do you look for unhappy signs and move him around looking for his happy spot? How long do they last in your tank? What are your parems and temp and stuff?
