use GE Silicone I "WINDOW AND DOOR"...It's a Blue tube

Red tube = "Kitchen and bath" and will kill everything. RED = STOP

DO NOT get anything that says silicone II on it. Silicone I only. the II has some anti mold stuff in it which will kill everything as stated allready.

Be careful though now, some of the Silicone I containers are now saying "anti mold and mildew" so make sure you are reading the tube. Anything that does not say anti mold should work.

I couldn't find GE silicon I anywhere so I just played it safe and bought a 10 oz tube of Aqueon silicon for my sump. Stuff's expensive though; $18. Oh well, I just had my LFS take it out of my store credit.

I've used this one too. But Lowe's does have one that is aquarium safe. It is by Loctite and it specifically says "Aquarium safe". Here's a link to it. It's much cheaper than the Aqueon or Marineland stuff that you buy from the petstore. Shop LOCTITE 3 Oz. Interior/Exterior Clear Silicone Waterproof Sealant at Lowes.com
