i set up my hang on skimmer today and did state in another post that it was producing millions of tiny bubbles spraying everywhere all over my tank.i was sitting there looking at my tank thinking it would stay like that forever.i have been reading up on them but im not sure on 1 thing.ive been told the bubbles will stop when the skimmer breaks in but what makes them stop producing millions and millions of tiny bubbles?
i know what happens with the foam etc just not the bubbles?

some one please put my mind at rest.
all the bubbles will go away wont they?

please tell me a little about your first new skimmer and how long it took to break in? did yours produce this amount of bubbles too?

Everyone's skimmer sucks for the first couple weeks. Don't worry!

When they are manufactured there are different things on the plastic that need to be rinsed free before they start working properly. They also need to develop a good slime coating. I'm not able to give you a technical reason for the bubbles..but they will diminish. You may need to add some sort of mechanical filtration at the skimmer output since yours is in your DT. I believe Puffer Chick has something like that. You could send her a message to tell you more.

You have to get the production oils and residues off of the parts before it works properly. A good rinsing in hot water can help.
