Your opinion: Does Brett deserve to be released? Or should the Packers give him his job back? Or should he be traded?

I'd love to see Brett kill it for another year. Packers are in my top 3 teams. Go pack!!!

How does anyone earn the right to be let go?!?! Not to be a wise ass I just don't get that. He has a contract, he said no thanks to second team, so what else do they owe him? He is and will be one of the best to play and one of my favorites, but I just don't get what people mean by "he earned it."

I think he got paid all those years! If I quot my job and then wanted to be able to request placement, unemployment etc. Don't think it would fly.

My good friend Travis and I last year in the playoff season. Obviously, I started rooting for the packers.

And to answer your question, he should come back and let them trade him.

My opinion, and I been a Farve fan since '92 and a Cheesehead for 35yrs: he's under contract for two more years. He can 1) Stay retired 2) come back and compete for the starting job. If he's still got it, and I think he does, then it shouldn't be a problem. Like you said Jake, its a job, and he made his choices.

Living 45 min away from Green Bay, I can tell you there's no other subject getting more attention around here.

Personally, I think their GM Ted Thompson is crazy if he thinks Rodgers offers the packers a better shot at winning right now. You can go back and forth about him retiring and why and the team moving on with Rodgers now, but the bottom line is who is the better player and which one will win more games.

Rodgers will get his turn, for now though, if the one of greatest quarterbacks of all time calls you can says I want to play for you this year, you gotta be fool to say no.

I'll never forget his first playoff game, at least the first one I remember. It was against the Lions and he threw 6 INT's(not 100% sure, it was a lot). He still almost had a game winning drive. All I could think was "why the hell is he still in there?" Simple answer was/is he will give them a chance to win!
