I have Brightwells aquatics Magnesion-P supplement.
My current Mg level is 1170. I want to boost it up to around 1300.
My tank is a 55 gallon with a HOB fuge so im guesing around 45 gallons.
I was wondering if anyone knew of a calculator to use to estimate this for me or if anyone knows how fast I can add the Mg supplement?
It is a powder and these are the instructions
Advanced: Create a stock solution by dissolving 20 grams (~4 teaspoons) of Magnesion-P in 8-fl. oz. of fresh water (preferably purified); each ml of the solution will increase magnesium concentration (”[Mg2+]”) in 1 US-gallon (3.785 L) of water by 6.0 ppm. [Reference: Each g of Magnesion-P will increase the [Mg2+] in 1 US-gallon (3.785 L) of water by 114.4 ppm.] If initial [Mg2+] in the aquarium is below 1,288 ppm, add stock sol’n at maximum rate of 10 ml per 20 US-gallons daily until desired [Mg2+] is attained, then dose daily or weekly as needed.

Can I dose more than what is recommended in 1 day and be ok?

Follow their directions and don't rush it. You know the old saying, "Nothing good ever happens fast in a reef aquarium".

Since you are estimating 40~45 gallons, double the dosage......i.e. 20 ML per day until you hit your target. (That's roughly 7 oz's so you will use most of the solution you are making daily).

Good catch Meagan. 40 ml is .7 oz, not 7 oz. Sorry 'bout that.
