As with evrything in reef aquariums, I am find there are multiple opinions on just about everything.

I received what I think is a pinkish colored bristle worm with my CUC order. Good, Bad or just ugly??

I have read some people say that are bad. Some say they are just more clean up crew.

    Your opinions???

    Thanks
    Mark

As long as they aren't the coral eating type, I don't mind them. They eat leftovers and what not in the aquarium. But then again if there is too many I like to try and get rid of them. I found when I cut back my feedings then I seen a lot less of them, but maybe I'm just not seeing them and the numbers haven't really reduced.

IMO they are part of the CUC. I say this because they do help with keeping the tank clean of uneaten food and waste. they are ugly thats for sure but I wouldnt go out of my way to get rid of them. I have not had an issue with them eating coral before but I have heard that they will if hungry or no other food is around. So I would say monitor them. with that being said I wouldnt intentionally add them to the tank either.

so I say leave them if they are there but dont add more.

Agreed, they are part of the cleanup crew to me. I think they're actually pretty cool. They're a little creepy at first but I got used to them. They're part of the natural nutrient processing on the reef so I like reproducing that as closely as I can. If you've had them in your tank there's a good chance you won't be able to get rid of them completely even if you try anyways although you can certainly decimate their numbers if you really want to.

Thanks, if I see him again, I'll nab him. Otherwise, I won't worry about it.
